Mikes Boat |
Mike Eaton built this craft for the 06/07 season. Mike made the boat short so that he could haul it easily in back of his pick up truck. The fuselage is made from 1/2" plywood with cleats. The boat has a 10' rear beam made from two layers of 3/4" oak and uses a Hobbie 14 mast that has been cut down to 18'. Mike used a cut down Hobie mainsail. The boat sailed great and got a lot of use during the 06/07 season. Changes for the 07/08 Season Mike made some major changes for the 07/08 season. He added a slant back to get his sheeting blocks located closer to the end of his boom and also made a new and longer springboard. These two changes doubled the length of his boat. He also went for a new color scheme. And to compliment the package he came up with a Skeeter sail which he cut down to fit his existing mast. Mike before changes Mike after changes. |
