Mikes Trailer
Mikes new rolling garage is built on a motorcycle trailer frame. He
lengthened the tongue and built his rig with front and rear doors
for easy access and storage.
We all have adopted this method of sliding the front chock on a
rail that runs fore and aft in the trailer. The front chock is bolted
or pinned to hold the boat in place while traveling.
I think Robbie may have a career ahead of him as an iceboat
trailer model. He proudly displays how the front door provides
easy access and a great place to spend the afternoon if mom
gets a little cranky.
Mike has installed compartments for his sails, booms etc.
Mike did a lot of head scratching on this mast hanger
arrangement. He claims its a good idea to remove the spare
tire from under a trailer before drilling any holes through the
floor. He claims the odds are very high that you might drill a
hole through the spare. It is nice to see that Mike is legally
registered and has working lights. I hope the town takes that
registration money and fixes the damn holes in the road so we
don't beat our boats to pieces when hauling them.
